Project: Social Housing – Sherwood Energy Village
DLDS: Stages 1 to 6
Key Details: Part of a large redevelopment masterplan, to provide housing, employment and leisure on the site of a redundant colliery.
Accolades: Shortlisted LABC Awards, Social Housing.

Following it’s closure in 1995, a masterplan for Ollerton Colliery was created with an aim to ‘deliver practical regeneration that won’t cost the earth – a nice place to live, work, learn and play’. As part of this concept, DL Design Studio were involved in the design and delivery of 51 homes, consisting of 24 apartments and 27 houses. Our scheme maintained key vistas through the site and uses the apartments to provide transition between the commercial and residential elements on the site.

The project was shortlisted for a LABC Social Housing Award.
